Newbury, MA – Patricia (Rand) Baker, 82, of Newbury passed away September 2, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Bradley, ME on February 2, 1934 a daughter of the late Chester and Viola (Shorette) Rand (for whom the Bradley elementary school is named).

Patricia graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor, ME, with the Class of 1952. She was a former communicant of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Bradley as well as Immaculate Conception of Newburyport.

She had a love of antiques and enjoyed restoring furniture with her husband Ron. She also enjoyed fishing trips with her husband, sewing, even making several outfits for her children as well as being active in the garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She always liked finding a bargain, shopping thrift shops and yard sales. An avid dog lover, she had many wonderful years with her collie, Brandy.

She is survived by her children, Maria Desrosiers of Bradley, ME, Christopher Baker and his wife, Lisa, of Salem, NH and Bernadette Gwinn and her husband Christopher, of Rowley; sister-in law Corinne Baker of Bradley and Bangor, ME; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great- great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Ronald V. Baker; her sisters, Mary Jean Rand and Greta Ann Bumann and daughters Sabrina Petersen and Melissa Devoid.

At her request, there will be no services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to The Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473.
