Jeanetta V. Gillespie

d. August 3, 2019

Newmarket, NH – It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanetta V. (Reed) Gillespie, 78, announce her death on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at The Pines of Newmarket.  Born January 9, 1941 in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick Canada, she met and married her husband Ralph 59 years ago.  They moved to Massachusetts in 1963 where they worked and raised their family of five children in Billerica, MA.  They moved back to Canada in retirement to Jeanetta’s hometown of Plaster Rock where they spent 15 wonderful years on the Tobique River with family and friends nearby.

Jeannetta is survived by her dearly loved children Laurie Beattie (Douglas) of Rye, NH, James Gillespie (Trisha) of Billerica, MA, Lisa Griffin (Michael) of Hudson, NH, Katherine Gillespie of Cooper City, FL, and Leigh Gillespie (Cheryl) of Billerica, MA; ten adored grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Jillian, Jeanetta, Levi, Kristina, Victor, Diego, Cameron and Collin; and three adorable great granddaughters Kara, Sophia, and Danielle.  She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Edith Ervine, Charles Reed, Christina Simmie, Alma Dibb and George Reed.

Jeanetta’s greatest passion was being with her family.  She was a great cook and loved to entertain over the years.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards, dancing, and country music.  She looked forward each year to their summer vacations in Canada with her husband’s family, camping with her sisters and their families, and the several trips taken to the British Columbia to visit her brothers and sister.

Jeanetta was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph and her brother Duncan Reed.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Pines of Newmarket for taking outstanding care of our mother.  We would also want to thank Christina and Jim Simmie for loving and taking great care of her during her final years in her home in Canada.

SERVICES:  The funeral will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, (Limestone Siding), Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada on September 13, at 2:00 pm followed by a dinner at the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, people may donate to the charity of their choice.
