Jean R. Wark

Stratham, NH – Jean R Wark, 88, of Stratham, died at her home on May 28, 2021 with family present after a brief illness.

Jean was born in Lee, Massachusetts and graduated from Lee High School. She attended the Henry W. Bishop Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and graduated as an RN. She worked at the Pittsfield General Hospital before marrying and starting a family.

Jean was married for 59 years to the late D. Craig Wark Jr., living in Winchester and Boxford, Massachusetts and finally, for the last 35 years, in Stratham. Jean was an avid gardener and well known for her landscaping around the complex where they lived. Jean was very proud of all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many summer vacations to Merrymeeting Lake and later to Newfound Lake, surrounded by family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly bridge games and spending time with friends.

Jean is survived by her elder brother George Richmond and his son Scott of Glens Falls, New York, as well as her three children: Deborah Post of Stratham (formally of Naples, Florida), David Wark and his husband Jeffery Whitney of Rochester, New Hampshire, and Pamela Perry and her husband Thomas of Londonderry, New Hampshire. She has three grandchildren: Kelsey Perry of Hopkinton, New Hampshire, Jack Perry of Boston, Massachusetts, and Ian Perry and his wife Angelena also of Londonderry, New Hampshire.

There will be a private memorial service.
