North Hampton, NH – Horace “Grumpy” R. Rommelman, 85, a longtime resident of North Hampton, died peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home.

He was born on October 3, 1935 in Watertown, NY a son of the late Joseph and Edna (Dexheimer) Rommelman. Raised in Watertown and Carthage, NY, he graduated from Carthage High School and went on to proudly serve 4 years in the United States Navy.

Horace had a successful career in the shoe retail industry, serving as manager and buyer for various stores throughout New York and New England.

Surviving family members include his wife of 41 years, Sharon (Fastiggi) Rommelman of North Hampton; daughter, Margaret Smith of Marina, CA; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandson and many nieces, nephews and grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Heale; brothers, Harold Rommelman (his twin), Joseph Rommelman, Jim Rommelman and sister, Mary Parker.

All services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Rockingham VNA & Hospice, 5 Alumni Drive, Exeter, NH 03833.
