Rye, NH – Douglas Davidson Outhuse, 65, passed away on September 15, 2021. Doug was born in Springfield, MA on March 18, 1956. After suffering from dementia for many years, he passed away peacefully at Portsmouth Regional Hospital with his wife and daughters at his side.
He was adopted at the age of 2 by Margaret and Roland Outhuse. He grew up on Thompson Lake in Palmer, MA with his parents and older sister Joyce and attended Pathfinder Regional Vocational High School. He moved to Amesbury, MA and married Janice Outhuse, nee’ Provencher. They moved to Rye, NH in 1983 where he resided until his death.
Doug loved his family, his dogs and riding his motorcycle. He was the neighborhood handyman, doing odd jobs and mowing lawns for many years. He also enjoyed working on cars and could often be seen under the hood of a vehicle in the driveway. He was a “Jack of all trades” and had many occupations over the years. He was down to earth and friendly and always had a joke or funny story to tell. He made everyone smile and had friends everywhere. He is missed by many.
Doug is survived by his wife, Janice, his daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Josh Mazzei of Laconia, NH and their children, Sawyer, Calleigh and Frederick, his daughter Jamie Duquette, of Rye, NH and her children, Michael and Lilah, his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Boswell of Newbury, FL, his mother-in-law Jean Provencher, his aunt Ruth Outhuse, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life on November 7 th from 12 – 4 at The Roundabout Diner in Portsmouth, NH.
