Doris Grasso

Methuen, MA – Doris Grasso, 90, a longtime resident of Methuen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 17th 2021.

Doris was born on January 20, 1931 to the late Leo and Jeanne Charette and was raised and attended school in Lowell, MA. She met the love of her life, Danny, whom she shared 21 years of marriage with after settling in Methuen to raise a family.

Doris was a homemaker for many years before working at the IRS from which she retired in 1993. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Center, trips to Foxwoods, her morning coffee and the occasional glass of Chardonnay before dinner. Most of all, Doris enjoyed being with her family such as spending time with her daughters at the beach, taco night with her grandchildren and Sunday dinners.

She leaves behind family and friends who will cherish the memories of her resilience and strength.

Doris is survived by her daughters Denise and her husband David Butler of Merrimac, MA; Debra and her husband Gordon Conte also of Merrimac, MA. She was “Gram” to grandchildren Lee Pettirossi and her husband Barry of Fremont, NH, Jennifer Conte of Salem, NH; Jill Butler of Plaistow, NH and Dan Butler and his wife Heather of Windham, NH. Doris was also “GG” to great grandchildren David, Isabella, Jaden and Grayson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Danny, her sisters Shirley Cooke and Diane Blanchard.

Memorial and burial services will be private.
